Can you install a nav map update on a 2009 sedan without going to the dealership? The dealers in Houston want $249 to install it on top of the $149 update price.

Go to another dealership. Most charge around 100 for the update. You cannot do the update without going to a dealership.

 

Did Sewell quote you that? Shouldn't be more than 1 hour labor charge.

 

What "new update" is for the Nav at the moment? i purchased mine in 2011.. heard the JX got something called "Infiniti Connection" lets you browse the google for restaurants hotels etc. dont know whether or not you can update to that version.
