I just got an 08 G. The nav seems to have 07-08 maps in it.

Is it worth getting the new maps or wait another cycle?

The reason I hesitate is because I was driving around Dallas this weekend and a few of the roads were built in the last year. according to the Nav I was riding through pastures and fields and water. I'm wondering how long it takes for new roads to show up on the nav maps.

I frequent Dallas, Austin, Houston, North Carolina, Florida and will be taking a trip from Louisiana to California this summer. I'd hate to get the new maps now and then have to buy them again in the summer.

When I purchased the car I asked the Dealer about getting new maps and he said it wasn't worth it till the new ones came out. Either he didn't know how old they were and assumed they were 2011 OR he didn't want to have to throw that into the deal we were making.

OR maybe they aren't really worth it.
