Sacd ???

Does the BOSE system play SACDs? I looked through the manual, but it did not list them, HOWEVER, in the Music Box section it list this as "recordable" audio into music box;

"Hybrid Compact Disc Digital Audio (Hybrid
CD-DA) specification in Super Audio CDs"

??

The specs don't say it's surround sound either. Yet when I play a dolby or dts encoded dvd I hear stuff happening behind my head.

Yeah it is definitely surround sound. It has the DTS decoder so it has to be. The manual I guess just isn't very clear. (I get the same with DVDs)

I've heard amazing things about SACD and DTS audio, but finding decent albums in this format are ffew and far between. I REALLY want to try it out.

Pretty much a dead format I thought along with DVD-Audio. I have tons of both formats, but gave up investing in any new discs.

Unless you have an Acura then your supporting whatever is left of those formats.

Right, which is why I called it a dead format. I quit investing in both formats over 7 years ago. One good thing is some of my discs are selling on fleabay for over $100 now. Maybe time to dump them all.

Off topic. I think SACD was supported for one or two years. The nicer DACs were also deleted for 2010-2011. They definitely cheapened the AV quality for showroom features in our later models.
