Help Identifying Security System

Hey All,

Just bought an 08 G37S fully loaded from the dealership. There is a little black button inside the arm rest. Anyone have ideas for its purpose?

Pic Attached.

Thanks

have you seen 2Fast and 2Furious? Thats the "Ejecto seato Cuz" button, it will blow the door off and get rid of a annoying passenger!

That is not for any Infiniti factory option. It is aftermarket. My guess would be possibly a maybe a subwoofer control.

Is it a simple on/off toggle or is it a control **** that turns? Do you have an OEM navigation system?

Yes, I have the OEM Nav. The button doesn't twist, but it can be pushed. I've pushed it a few times while the car was on and off and it doesn't appear that anything happens.

Any other ideas?

Normally you can't watch video without the parking brake engaged, so that looks like a bypass switch....

rolls eyes Seat eject? Bro grow up...
That my fine friend is the nos arm and purge button. Watch The Slow and the Obnoxious.

[Serious Note] No one can tell you what that switch actually does just by looking at it. (It is quite literally impossible for anyone to say definitively its actual purpose.) Fuel cut off, security, audio, video, etc. Pull the console and see where the wire goes. We can help you guess and check tho.

I believe OP may have posted in the hope that possibly the car's previous owner may have recognized it and commented. At any rate, a few things have been ruled out. I also advised via PM removing the console and following the wires. That will be the only sure way to solve the mystery unless the Hardy Boys or Scooby Doo and the gang get involved.

Haha thanks all!

Ive asked the dealership to ask the previous owner if I can contact him(or her). If i don't get anywhere with that I'll start removing panels. Look to hear from me soon!

or you could just push the button, take off parking brake / shift into D and play a DVD. If it plays, you know it's the video bypass.

I would probably try that first before trying to track down the old seller or removing any panels....
