Remote Key Fob Holder

Hi - do you guys use any holder to protect your remote key fob? I saw those silicon remote key fob jacket at the dealer, but don't want those because it's a lint magnet in your pocket and get dirty really easy. I though I saw someone posted a picture of a leather cover with clear window for the key, but I can't seem to find it anymore. Can anyone recommend a cover? Or is it's not necessary for such a thing? Thanks!

Personally I never found those necessary. That said if I was to get one I'd probably go for the silicone ones.

I got a couple of those silicone ones because I hold like 3 other keys along with my fob and didn't want it getting all scratched up.

The dealer gave me a leather one when I bought my car. I don't use it, though.

The logo came unglued from my primary key and it's a little scratched, so yeah I wish I'd picked one up. Just from being in my pocket with other keys.

^Same here. Except for the other day when I forgot it was in my golf bag and drove home from the course blissfully unaware. The trunk is apparently within range. The car just beeped at me when I tried to lock it, and I remembered.

That's odd. The trunk isnt suppose to close with the keys in it.

Yeah, I thought this as well but apparently the trunk and the interior of the car has two separate lock out protection systems that can't operate at the same time per my dealer. So if your exiting the vehicle then go to the trunk and mistakingly leave the key in the trunk, the trunk will lock because the lockout protection for the interior of the car is still active(Takes about a minute for the system to deactivate). But if you lock the keys in the trunk without entering the vehicle first then the trunk will automatically pop back open. I've tested this both in my 2010 sedan and my friends 07 sedan. You can test it by rolling down your windows( Just in case your spare key isnt available) then trying to lock your keys in the trunk. Since you are exiting the vehicle the trunk should lock. Open the trunk again with the trunk release button inside the car to retrieve yor key. Now lock your doors and wait about a minute. Now open the trunk again with the keyfob or the button on the trunk lid. Close the trunk and it should pop back open. I learned this the hard way. I thought my car was malfunctioning so i took it to the dealer.
