does installing viper 5901 / 3303 voids the warranty

Hi,

couple of weeks back some dumb a** stole all the 4 wheels and tires of my new G37 2010 journey, now i am planning to get 520T(back up battery system), 507M(Tilt sensor), and 506(Audio glass break sensor) installed on my journey. I went to couple of places and they said i first need to get viper brain, because these extra alarms can't be added to the factory alarm, is that true ? If yes, then i am also planning to get either viper 3303 or 5901, but i heard that remote ignition is not fully compatible with g37 and also the range is not good for auto start ? Also, does installing the viper brain voids the company warranty ? Any good recommendations of the installer ? I live in sunnywale, CA, so anything from SFO to SJ is feasible.

Regards,
Lukes

The installation of aftermarket parts will only affect the warranty if the dealership can prove that the aftermarket part caused a failure. If you install an alarm and your transmission goes out most likely there won't be a warranty issue. However, if you install an alarm and your BCM goes out, and the dealership can prove that the installation of the alarm caused a short in the BCM then you would be stuck paying the bill.

You will need a dedicated alarm to connect alarm accessories to. You can wire in a sensor or two to the OEM hood pin to give you single zone coverage but to use the dual stage feature of most sensors the alarm brain would have to be installed.

You should be able to find a shop that can install the remote start system on a pushbutton start car with no ill effects. Range shouldn't be an issue unless you are trying to start your car from over 1/2 mile.
