2011 G37S reverse camera fuzzy at night normal??

I just purchased a 2011 G37S sedan and notice every time at night the reverse camera is so blurry/fuzzy looking, day time is okay but still the resolution is not the greatest. Are anyone else experiencing this? Normal or not? Thanks Guys! Debating if i should bring it in for this.

Yes that's normal. The camera is designed to capture as much light as possible at night to make things easier to see. However, a side effect of that is images can appear grainy at night.

Thats really strange. My 07 fx35 is not fuzzy at all at night. Is there a way to make the G camera more clear at night?

LEDs to improve lighting. It might also help to have a higher def camera, if that's even possible. I don't know the software in the cars navi could handle it

Its very similar to how your digital still camera works: the "speed" of the recording is adjusted to allow more light in (during darker periods) and so the image gets grainier.

I imagine the suggestion about better LEDs back there would be the biggest help....and now that I think of it Ive never seen any other rear view cameras *at night* so I cant compare.

Mine at night looks fine. But this is all very subjective as to what is s good/bad picture for the backup camera so it's hard to judge.

I just replaced reverse lights with some smt LEDs from autolumination.com and the image is still poor. Very unacceptable to me.

Its called gain. Cameras do the same thing. When in low light they increase the iso but doing so increases the noise.

Looks exactly like every other backup camera I've ever used. When you use a small digital sensor that all backup cameras use, there is no way you will ever have a non-grainy night video. Maybe one day when the tech gets better, the video will also, but it's really not necessary now, is it?

Plus when it's cold a layer of haze sits on the camera lens, and when it rains there's no way I can see outa the camera
