how stereos sound to each person is clearly subjective. I used to be a huge car audio junkie and even worked as a stereo installer at some point in my life. Luckily after going through a period of major sacrifices, i've learned to train my ears to appreciate even the "crappiest" of car stereos haha, im satisfied with my bose

The Bose is pretty good to me. I used to be into car stereos to, the Bose gets the job done pretty good. I had a loaner with standard audio, it distorted after turning it up half way. The Bose is always pretty clean to me.

I am coming from an '04 TL with the ELS - Panasonic system - and I can tell you that our Bose is nowhere as good as the system in a TL. Not to mention the DVD-A and DTS capabilities of the TL system. The bose system is not compelling enough to upgrade to the premium package.

It may not be as good as the TL system (I never heard it), but I can tell you it's worlds better than the stock system.

Our system isn't perfect, but if you really think this is the worst they could do, you're being silly.

Additionally, XM sounds like crap on most stations, because they are gimping the quality on purpose. Some sound better than others. It's not our system. It's XM.
Any Lexus with the Mark Levinson system in it. By far the best stock system I have heard.

No highs, no lows, it must be Bose.

To chime in; I'm a huge music junkie myself and have put in aftermarket system in every car I've owned. In fact I had an 08 that I installed a JL sub and a JL clean sweep in it. I had a sub and just kept speakers. Truthfully the speakers couldn't handle my setup however it did clean up the sound greatly and it was loud. When I purchased the 2010 I considered doing the same however the system sound pretty good. Better than the 08 which doesn't make sense to me.

With comparing this to a factory system I think it's good. Of course if I compare it to a custom system then no but it's not a fair comparison anyway. I might put a custom system in this summer but for now I'm OK with the system and I'm getting tired paying for custom stereo setups too!

Decent system

"the very uppers" are called tweeters. And yes you are right, I did notice their tweeters tweak at high volumes and you can hear them struggling with every "s" a singer pronounces or with every splash of a symbol, however Bose is cocky, overpriced and only includes what they think is economical. So given today's music they pack a sh*it load of bass and people love it. For not having a subwoofer, those speakers undoubtedly hit, and fairly hard: If your stock speakers - no subs - can vibrate your rear and side view mirrors, they got juice. At "normal" volumes with the windows up, you can hear that the Bose system is precise. Make sure your MP3's have a bitrate of at least 192kbps, you have good connection equip, or are listening to original CDs. You should hear a difference. But, overall, no rocker or rap volume levels in the Bose G37 system.

-Answer: The quick fix is get new, reputable, tweeters and replace those. Go get a subwoofer and box built and put it in the trunk. Get a woofer controller device and turn the subs up to your liking. Turn the bass down in the dash settings, leaving the bass to solely be handled by the subwoofer(s) and not the speakers. This will allow more wattage to your speakers in the mid-range. This should give you the spectrum of levels you are looking to experience at high volumes.

Have you heard other car stereos? This bose is actually one of the best compared to cars in this price range.

TL's ELS & Mark Levinson are industry's top audio systems in a car. They have finished in top 3 in many stereo evaluations. BOSE is nothing compared to those systems but at the same time no slouch either.

Our BOSE system in G37 works for most people. And audiophiles like myself and others who can sense the differences in these systems are minority. We have known about Low's and High's of BOSE are average at best.

BOSE as a company have always insisted on mid's where 70% of the music is played. I don't think it will change anytime soon.

Not really my friend...even a Civic Si has a better system than our BOSE. which is half price to our car. TL has a kick *** system which is industry's top audio system for a car in any price range.

Even a shaker500 system in a regular Mustang (As Option) can kick BOSE's *** with an amp, & 2 subwoofers with much better clarity. I can name at least a few which are better than BOSE in lower price range cars.

I don't want to offend you but don't throw out a challenge unless you know your stuff. Here is a little article...
