12" sub box?

I got a good deal on a 12" Alpine type-r sub, so i bought it thinking that a company like Zenclosures would surely have a 12" option for their boxes. I was wrong. Has anyone contacted them before to see if they can make a 12" opening or has anyone tried modifying a 10" box to fit a 12?

I'm making a custom 12" box for myself. Either mod the existing box, or start from scratch...................

I fit the alpine type-r with the alpine box in my boy's coupe just fine. I faced the sub toward the back seats and voila you're all set! The only problem is you lose your whole trunk. It doesnt fit if you push it closer to the seats because of clearance issues but fits fine where the trunk lid closes.

Ok! Ive has a few setups, I have now a fosgate 12 p3, for mine I did it ghetto, removed the trunk mat and spare tire, then Put a huge ported box in, that's ***** loud!!!! If I was you I'd get a custom box that fits a 37 I've seen them. And don't build you're own cause there's a lot more to it than you think, the right type of wood, then sealed from inside and out, cuts gotta be perfect and carpeted. And face it to ur trunk don't fire the sub towards the seats it'll be louder if the wave bounces off the trunk and comes back. TRUST ME

Got the Sub installed yesterday, went with a
-12" alpine type-r handles 600rms @ 4ohms
-Kenwood 9105-D Amp, set at 500rms @ 4ohms
-Hatchback sized box from sonic electronix

The Box fit perfect! Nice and snug in the trunk opening, and i still have some usuable room.
