Hello,
I have mine tapped into the rearview mirror via stealth cord.

Works well and i can just reach over to mute. I have it mounted right behind the tint strip. I might do a more thorough install once i get some jammers.
GL & welcome to the site.

I also used the stealth cord to wire in my Passport.
You have a choice of how long of a cord to order. It has been awhile so I forget the exact lengths. I think it was an 8 or 12" long one. I have my detector mounted, with suction cups, just to the left of my mirror. The 8" cord would have worked easy, but I ordered the 12" one so I could wrap the cord once around the mirror post. The reason I did this was when the detector fell from the windshield it would hang from the cord and not fall against something in the car. Even though I got some new suction cups, the detector has still pulled loose from the windshield 3 times, in the last 10 months. Each time the wrapped cord kept it from falling off and damaging it or the car.
