SIIG, Inc. : USB 2.0 Switch 2-to-1 - (JU-SW2112-S2 )
http://www.google.com/products/catal...d=0CHUQ8wIwAQ#
WHy wont this work. 2 usb devices to switch from and one usb to source(computer)

DO a google search for usb switch 2 to 1 or 2-1
where it says one device and 2 computer doesnt matter. it can be one computer into the device location and the usb devices into the computer parts. The manual switch will create the connection no matter what

Well the USB is powered which is a good thing, you don't need to tap into your power through your battery/ignition.

I don't see why it wouldn't work though.

I think I have one of these floating around the office. The only pain is I can't test it because I don't have Type B to Type A adapters. I'm not sure if I have two devices that have Type B connectors that I could test. Thee only reason I doubt the effectiveness is because of the manual. It requires drivers for one... and also, it says in order to switch to a second storage it says you need to stop the device first. It's possible it would work, but I'm not 100% certain. I'll poke around the office - maybe I have a couple of scanners I can hookup or something.

They are only 10 dollars. Worth a try. Also there are some that have hardwire switches in big boxes. That will work
