Seat Memory Settings Question...

I just picked up my new g37xS sedan a couple weeks ago. The car is Awesome! I love it. I just have a couple questions about the car that I couldn't figure out. First with the auto seat memory. I have set the car on seat memory 1 to my adjustments. I have noticed when i start the car up it will move to my settings which i want. if i press the number "1" button sometimes the wheel or the seat might move slightly like it was not set to my position after turning the car on. other times when i press the number "1" the seat or wheel wont move an inch. I was wondering why that happens sometimes. Has anyone experienced this before? Thanks

It sounds like someone else has driven the car or at least changed your settings. This can happen at the dealer, car washes or, heaven forbid, valet parking.

are you using different keys? you have 2 keys and they can both be set to different settings (1 and 2). It is either someone has adjusted your seat since leaving the car or you are using different keys..

well nobody has driven my car besides me so i don't think it is that. when i originally set me seat it was at the dealer ship and i don't know what key i used because after setting the seat i went inside and he gave me another key so i dont know which one i am using right now. but this is why i am confused. sometimes when i hit "1" the wheel or seat will move a tiny bit. other times i hit "1" nothing moves so i dont know how it could be the key.

I believe the setting on the button has a memory and the key also has a separate memory as well. Which would explain your situation. Best solution would be to set the seating the way you like to button 1 and also the same setting to the key as well.

ok when you open the door to your car look at the position buttons.. whatever key light is lit up orange (1 or 2) that is what key you have in your hand.... sit in the car, turn it on, close the door, ebrake up.. and set the wheel, mirrors, and seat how you want them.. then push and hold that fobs number button (on the door) for about 10 seconds.. this is what always works for me...

In addition, to link the IK to a stored memory position, while the memory light (1 or 2) is being set and the light is still on, push the UNLOCK button on the IK fob until the light blinks. That particular IK is now linked to that memory setting (let’s say 1). You can do the same for the other fob if, for example, another person who uses that fob desires different settings, let’s say on number 2. BTW this is all on page 3-30 in the owner’s manual.

i just can't figure out why sometimes when i get in the car and hit the number "1" the seat and wheel won't move at all which makes me think everything is linked up. Other times i get in the car and hit the button "1" either the wheel or seat might move a little like the memory is not set up. why does it move sometimes and other times it does not move?

Mine has never done that in two years. Certainly, it should not happen. So it’s either a system malfunction or someone is changing your settings without your knowledge.

so your telling me that every time you get into your car the seat and wheel always move to the exact position and you press the number "1" button every time u turn your car on. if you dont press the number 1 you will never know if it moves a slight bit

The drivers seat in my car does not adjust at all, unless I bump or move a switch, e.g. move the seat possition.
Could it be your seat moving back and the stearing wheel moving up to let you out? Then moving back when you get in? I don't know, I switched that function off on my G via the head unit.

yes mine moves when i open the door so i can easily get out. for some reason im am thinking sometimes when i turn the car on the seat adjust to my setting number "1" and sometimes may be a fraction off. it will move less than an inch sometimes when i hit "1". other times it does not move. u think that could be it?

Infiniti7, dunno
But, could be.
Personally, if it's one of those things that buged me, I'd reset the key fobS and the door sets. It's easy and might fix it?
