Iphone 3GS / G37 Issue

I've scoured the threads, but haven't seem to find a clear answer on the questions below. As background, I have an iPhone 3GS (w/ iOS 4+) and a G37 Sedan w/ Premium, but no navigation system.

1. Is there a new cable compatible with the 3GS that can be purchased that will work for my 2009 G37? Currently I cannot charge the phone. (Note I know that there are adapters by Scorche(?) and others, but I want just a cable.)

2. Is there any software update that is available that would allow me to stream via bluetooth my music from my iphone 3GS to my 2009 G37? This would be preferred to using a cable.

3. This one may seem like a stupid request, but if I do have to use the current cable (or a new cable), given how small the console is, can anybody give me any good recommendation on how to position the phone in the console with the cable attached so it doesn't crunch either the cable or the phone? I absolutely love my car, but the console w/ phone was a pretty bad design.

Any thoughts or answers greatly appreciated!

1) No, not that I know of
2) No, why would you want bluetooth sound over hardwired sound... the latter will sound way better and allows you to control the phone via steering wheel and center console controls.
3) There is a cut out close to the driver side of the center arm rest for the cable, put the cable on that side, close the lid, leave your phone on top of the center tray that has the sliding door (behind the seat heater *****)

Thanks for the response.

1) Still unfortunate that there's not a cable. Apple hasn't had that old technology in a while now, so it baffles me that Infiniti hasn't released something that works.

2) I agree that the quality may not be quite as good, but if it is even close, it would be nice to not have to worry about the cable.

3) I don't have the sport, so I don't have a sliding door, just the flip door. But, if there's a cutout that I've missed for a year and a half, I'm gonna be really PO'd at myself.

Namir, got a couple questions for you, hope you don't mind.

1) All these connector talks, I thought you can get one of those connector and it would charge the phone at the same time as you connect the audio...no?

2) Your picture, what is that screen? It is completely different than mine...yours is much better...am I missing something?

3) Do you know how iphone 3gs can play video on the LCD screen?

I also have G37s with Premium and no nav.

Wow I never noticed that screen, I have no idea where that is I never use the phone menu on my nav screen I just dial the number from my contacts.

No I don't think the Iphone can play video on the screen, not that I know of at least.

And some feedback on the sosche Passport adaptor. Yes I am able to play audio and charge at the same time but I noticed that with the adaptor in place there is a noticeable high pitched sound that is constantly emitted. If the music has a pause or some silence in it and the volume is up loud you will here a rather annoying high pitched whine kind of like when an old tube TV was on but the sound was off. The issue is resolved by removing the adaptor and just using the cable by itself but then you obviously lose the ability to charge your phone.
Oh well. If my phone is dying I'd rather charge it and listen to XM than have it die on me.

I use the scosche adapter and have no audio issues or high pitched sound. You might have a bad adapter. Also, It's my understanding that video works through the aux input. You need a video cable from apple, the composite cable I think its called. It plugs into the base of the phone and you use the aux inputs in the center console for video and audio. The after market video cables that use the headphone jack will not work.

I dont know if your g37 is the same as my 07 G35 but here is how i have mine set up
I bought the OEM apple AUX cable, comes with the 3 cables (red, white, yellow) and a usb, along with what goes into the iphone/ipod

i pluged in the aux cables and next to them there is a lighter thingy where i put in an aftermarket iphone charger, and pluged in the usb part of the cable
so now i can watch videos / music and charge it at the same time.

here is a photo
