quick oil question since a good amt of people are looking at this thread...
should we put 5w-20 into our cars or 5w-30?
the dealership at tustin does oil changes with penzoil ultra with 5w-20, but i used 5w-30... weird.
guess what the oil change costs? i think $105 ish on quick glance. RIDICULOUS!

The manual calls for 5w30, I can't imagine why they'd ever put anything different in there unless you requested them to.

$250 isn't too bad, I'd replace it too since you do have exposed wires. Get rid of the rats.

electrical tape a mouse trap into that wire harness to cover the wires and get rid of the rodents and use some electrical wires poked into cheese as the bait.

That my friend is killing two birds with one stone.

Dealership cost: $2k (only an idiot would pay that)
Innovative solution cost: $5

Believe it or not, but there was a time when the insulation on wires were made with something that was attractive to rodents. I don’t remember exactly what it was, but it might have been some sort of soy product or something similar. It wasn’t unusual for a rodent to crawl up under the hood and chew through wiring harnesses. But I thought that problem went away when the changed the material that makes up the wire’s insulation…
