I recently bought the IPhone4 and have discovered that my 08 G37 won't charge it during use with the cable that is supplied with car. It chargees my IPOD during playback just fine but won't charge the new Iphone4(athough it does playback normally). Anyone else run into this problem and/or how were you able to fix the issue!? Thanks

Just a heads up, do a search before you post. Sometime you may get hounded to do a search, but the people on here are better about it.

 

the iPhone 4 will NOT charge with the OEM cable. Just the nature of the beast with the new phone. Since I have a 120GB iPod that stays in my G 100% of the time I don't mind, but yeah you can buy an aftermarket cable if it really bothers you that much

 

Yep. Anything newer than the original iPhone will NOT charge with the provided cable ,at least for the 08's. You can buy one of those Scosche Passport or Griffin Firewire-to-USB cables to solve this problem. I'd personally stay away from the Scosche just because I hear people complain about how it comes loose sometimes.

 

08's and 09's you will have to use aftermarket cable. The 2010's use the oem ipod cable so it will work.
