Poor antenna reception on 2010 Sedan

Recently went from an 08 G35 sedan to 10 G37 sedan last month, and the biggest difference I noticed was the radio reception quality on AM and XM.

I know they changed the radio from the Bose 6-disc to the new 2Gb HDD unit, but I can't imagine them changing the AM/FM antenna or the XM antenna. The biggest drop in performance is in the AM band. There were always a few dead spots on my way to work, but now its unbearable. If I'm on the freeway and a semi passes me up, the static is so loud I need to turn down the volume or change the source.

XM drops out much more frequently when going under bridges/overpasses. I usually never complain about this, but its becoming very annoying.

Has anyone else noticed these problems?

Never have an issue with antenna reception other than for XM when the car is in the garage. Was it like that since new? You probably should have your dealer to check it.

Thank you.. i'm glad someone else feels the same way i do. I went from a 2006 g35 coupe with sirius to a 2010 g37s which has xm and the xm stinks. The sounds quality is terrible, it sounds like highly compressed internet audio. I'm taking it to the dealership tomorrow to have it looked at.. I'll keep you posted.. did anything happen when you went to the dealership for yours?

Sirius is the same as XM they merged over a year ago. All programming has merged. Same sats putting out the channels. I have a 2010 coupe and sedan nothing happening. Keep in mind you must have a clear view of the southern sky to get prestie reception. If you drive under bridges or through tunnels you wont get reception ...

I have a 2010 sedan and I'm experiencing terrible reception for FM & AM recently. I always listen to the same station on my way to and from work with no static what so ever. All of a sudden straight static. It seems to be in and out. Never consistent but very noticeable for someone who has a routine of listing to the radio everyday.

Any advice or resolutions? (Without going to a dealer)
