'10 TSB on Navi
'10 TSB on Navi
I got the Navi fixed due to the TSB but did not find out what its for, apparently the letter is in the mail. Anyone else received the letter yet? I have not used the car to find out whats different and will only use it this weekend. The car was in the shop for something else not related to the Navi
If I get the letter soon I will post the information but if anyone got it please share.

Interesting. I have not received a letter yet and there have been no recent TSB listed. I bought mine in late May. Maybe it was already done when I got it. I could think of a few upgrades I'd like to see in the '10 Navi though....

I just took delivery of my 2010 G37x with nav 2 weeks ago. I took it back to the dealership yesterday to have them correct a minor alignment issue I had noticed while driving (it turns out the front toe-in was out of spec).
They also told me there was a TSB for the nav system and they would perform the update to the software that day while they had the car. The service manager didn't know exactly what the fix involved. All it said on the service receipt when I got the car back was "PERFORMED NAV UPDATE PER ITB P03360"
I'm curious to know exactly what was fixed / updated?

I bought my 2010 in March. Had the car in last Wed. for one of my 2 free oil changes and a free tire rotation. No one mentioned any TSB for the Nav, while I was there.
On my last trip the Nav screen rebooted while I was driving. As I recall it blanked out and came back in just a few seconds. I used the Nav for the 4,000 mile trip with no other real problems.
The Nav had problems finding a few of the motels I programed in. It would get me fairly close then say that I was on unknown streets (something like that).
After using the G Nav for 6,000 miles, I would still rather use my portable Garmin GPS. It is easier to use and seems to have more detailed streets in it.

I had no problems with my Nav (purchased Jan 26 2010) so am quite keen to find out what this is about. So I guess everyone is in the dark as well including the dealers.
Some minor things I have observed comparing my 08 to the '10
-The '10 is slower, maybe due to better graphics which take up more space
-Takes too many sub menus to get to search by name of a place using the "Places" option
Other than that, no other complaints, I will use it tonight and see if I observe anything

I bought my G in Feb/2010, and I did experienced two Nav screen freeze-up in the past 5 months. It happened when I was driving and I used the arrow key to move the map around. The voice guidance was working properly though (I was glad this was still working so I could just following the voice guidance to get to my destination).
I don't think my old Germin GPS is comparable to the Nav in my G. First of all, that old Germin starts up reeeeeally slow, i could take a nap. G Nav starts up in few seconds.
I work in software industry, and I have to say that almost all software programs have holes or weak spots. some are big, some are small. Considering Infiniti is not a full fledged software company, i have no complaint about the Nav freeze-up whatsoever as long as my G's mechanic parts hold up tight.
I look forward to those days when car makers open up their car OS interface and I can install my own programs on my car.

I went in today for an my 7500 service and they mentioned the nav TSB/recall. The service guy didn't have any idea what it was for, but as I pushed him on info, I think it was pretty clear that I know more about the nav system than he does.
Got it done, I'm not sure if the version was updated, but it says 1.0b now. Anyone without the update wanna check if it just says 1.0, or 1.0a or something?

Did some googling. Maybe that's it. Wonder if they're actually fixing the iphone phonebook problem where the contacts revert to long hexidecimal digits.

I remember my wife complaining about the Iphone and I did not think too much of it. I asked her just now and she said the phone phonebook was not showing numbers on the Nav screen. Went to try it just now and sure enough the phonebook had alphanumeric digits showing. I deleted the phone from connected phones and reconnected it, and voila, all is well in the world.
