I thought, but I'm not sure, that iOS 4 fixed that problem as well.

I can't say anymore, since I got rid of my iphone

I am going in tomorrow for my 3700 mile service and they mentioned to me they will be updating the NAV system. What i was told was that it corrects some issues with certain phones and the recent slow issues with Ipods after the 4.0 update. Now keep in mind this was a receptionist telling me, I will try and get more info from the shop in the AM and post what I can......stay tuned

Yeah, that was fixed with iOS4. I sync my contact list on every connection now and it hasn't been corrupted in several weeks since the update was released.

I had the update done yesterday, all they would say is, as I posted above, it resolves several issues with Ipod, Iphone and other Mobile phones. it did fix my issue I had with a Motorola QM9 where a TXT would come in and the bluetooth on the NAV would pick up saying "call in Progress". Although my Ipod Touch is still not working right (very slow to scroll through) but I am thinking that has more to do with the Ios 4 update.

I went today for my 1st oil change, got my G in March, and was told that there was a TSB on the navi aswell. I asked them if that involved fixing the wacky steering wheel controls. Up going down and down going up, and he had no idea what i was talking about. I provided a letter my friend had gotten about the same issue and still nobody at my dealer knew. He gave me Infinitis # to call and i will be giving them a earful because even after my TSB on the navi was done ( Still have no clue what it was for) My radio controls are still all screwed up.

Got the letter from Infiniti in the mail today. The update is mostly centered around fixing bugs with the iPhone and iPod touch.

Also addressed are "irregularities with navigational maps, voice recognition commands, phonebook transfer from mobile phone to vehicle and increase the number of entries that can be stored".

Sounds good to me!

Reason for campaign

I got my letter today. Key part:

REASON FOR CAMPAIGN

Infiniti has become aware of customer concerns with the Navigation System and with Communication and Entertainment Functions involving the iPhone. To help address these concerns, Infiniti will update the Navigation and communication software in our vehicle. This software update will address irregularities with navigational maps, voice recognition commands, phone book transfer from mobile phone to vehicle and increase the number of entries that can be stored.

I addition, Infiniti is aware of customer complaints regarding compatibility with the iPod Touch. Apple has also addressed this issue, and updated software for the iPod Touch is available on the Apple website in July, Infiniti has also developed a fix that will also be installed when you bring your vehicle in for this service.

Bluetooth issue since update

I had my 2010 G37xS in for the first oil change this past Monday. They told me they did a Navigation System update. When I asked what it specifically changed I was told the maps. Well, it sounds like it change much more than that.

Since the update, my Bluetooth has been acting strange. In fact, it was acting up when I called to complain about it. While I was talking to the service manager, there were periods when the screen flipped to the Navigation map and I was unable to hear the service manager, but she said she could still hear me. I've also had complaints about my voice quality this week only, and I have had times when listening to a voicemail that 5 to 20 second portions would blank out. When I switched control to the handset, the system would keep jumping back and forth from Bluetooth to handset.

The service manager doubts the update is the issue and said she is ordering an AV unit to potentially fix my problem with the Bluetooth quality. I've also heard that the new Motorola Droid X (and some other models) doesn't work with Infiniti/Nissan models. However, the people I read complaining had 2008 and older vehicles. I still have my Storm2 in hopes of getting the new Droid X soon. I wonder if this update changed anything with those issues as well.

I just received the above letter from Infiniti and I'm planning to get my G updated on this.

How long it takes the dealer to perform the update? Less than 1 hour?

I would imagine so. Either they plug something in to the OBD port, or update it via DVD.

They estimate about an hour in the letter, but I left the car so I don't know how long they actually took.
