Lightbulb What I didn’t know about voice commands

I was putting in a destination to an appliance parts store I’ve never been to via voice commands today and the damn thing fell silent when I got to the street address number. I kept putting in the numbers that I knew were correct, sometimes shouting, but it still kept asking me for the numbers as if it didn’t hear me. Did this brainless system finally fail me after all the posts I’ve offered advocating voice commands over manual inputs?

Then I saw what I had never noticed before: There was a little message on the nav screen listing the range of street numbers for the city and street I had entered, and my number were not in that range. It turned out that I imputed Northridge as the city but the place was really in Chatsworth. After putting in the right city the full address was accepted and I was on my way.

Perhaps we need a new voice command that says, “Hey dimwit, there’s no such address in that city.”

Ive had that same issue but for a legitimate address. It went away for that particular address when I got a new nav update
