It will lapse itself. You might even get lucky and have it last longer if your radio misses the cancel signal, or if the dealership forgot to report the car sale in time.

But XM does not have any of your credit card and billing info unless you give it to them directly. You pay for the service in advance.

They will start bugging you via all possible methods about renewing as well... You'll know when it is close.

Anyone try to negotiate nav traffic and weather into an annual rate after the trial?

No, but from what I've read here maybe I should have. Only have traffic with the '09, btw, it's not equipped for weather. I think when it becomes renewal time I'll be more on the fence about renewing to see if I can get a discount.

However I wanted to add the "Best of Sirius" package with my subscription to get the NFL. So I upgraded it online, but the best of sirius stations still did not work.

So I called for support. When I tried upgrading they said I would only be able to get what I already had until the free trial ran out, then could upgrade. Otherwise, if I upgraded right away I would lose the remaining 2 months of the free trial. Normally when you buy the subscription you keep the 3 free months and the paid service begins on the end date.

Anyway, I called back a few times to try to get it fixed and they ended up giving me the Best of Sirius package for free for 3 months, and I got to keep the remainder of the free trial. Not a huge savings or anything like that, but I was happy with the customer service -- they were happy to work with me to help me get what I wanted from them.

I called about the best of sirius when I got my car a month ago, and they said no problem with giving me it for the trial, but it took 2 more phone calls for them to get it right in my account.

Funny thing is I got the best of sirius to listen to Howard stern, and have yet to listen to it. Find myself listening to the Ipod or XM radio stations instead, so I doubt I will even get the Best of Sirius when I renew.
