Who has a Scosche Passport/Griffin Adapter??

I was about to buy the Scosche Passport from Amazon, but I saw this review:
Here

I have a iPhone charger in my car already, so it's not like I can't charge the phone. But I'd rather just have both done with the supplied cable. I want to know this product works flawlessly (or close to it). Just wondering if anyone could provide some quick input on whether you like it or not, any flaws, dissatisfaction, etc. Also, please post what model iPhone/iPod you are using with it. Thanks.

*** Also, for those who are going to jab me about doing a search, I did. I've read some useful stuff, but I want some new or updated testimonials, that's all.

Just picked up the Passport a few weeks ago and so far with an iPhone 3G it works pretty well charging the phone as expected. It still produces a message when you initially plugin the adapter saying it's an unsupported device, but all of the iPod audio functions and charging work well. I'd say go for it, since it works with the Infiniti cable pretty nice.

The problem with the passport is that it doesn't lock into the phone. It seems to come loose very easily IMO. It makes the cord assembly too long to fit into the phone and still fit inside the console. It works as advertised though.

I have it and it works, but it is a pain to get the phone back into the center console.

I've been able to route the cable with the passport inside of the console without too many problems. You basically have to loop the cable near the front latch area without having the console cover crush the cable. Haven't had the passport come loose from the phone yet!

Get the Griffin instead!! The Griffin Firewire-to-USB converter works flawlessly, fits tighter, and can fit into the center console when plugged in. It's basically the same thing as the Scosche but smaller.

I have the passport, it works great! Takes up a bit too much space though and makes putting the phone in the cup holder or center console a pain. You might want to try what Andrew is recommending though!

Thanks for the input guys! I'm really on the fence about the Griffin adapter. I want to get it, but to be honest, I think I'll be switching phones by the end of the year (yeah, a while away), so is it really worth it for me to get it...my iPod works with the original cable so no worries if I get rid of my iPhone.

Then again, for $19...

Maybe it's just me, but with my scosche, I get a really annoying high-pitched hum whenever in the iPod mode. Normally, its hard to hear behind the music playing, but in between songs and during quiet passages, its frightfully annoying. Works great other than that though.

By the way my input is iPhone 3GS if that helps at all.

But I still get that pop-up that says "this accessory is not designed to work with the iphone...airplane mode...etc" Seems to charge just fine though.
