weirdest electrical problem
I went out this morning to get the newspaper...and found both windows of my car open. The window lock was also depressed. There is absolutely no way I did this.
This is the strangest thing. I have all keys accounted for.
Have any of you heard of people being able to get into other cars and activate the windows?
Or of windows lowering on their own?
I have ruled out any practical jokes.
And no, I'm not on any anti-psychotic drugs. Nor should I, according those who know me.

Check and make sure that the clock is telling the correct time (analog). Most likely there was a loss of power. Happened to me once and the clock was off by a couple of minutes. Thats really just my guess though.
once while visiting a friend I went to get in the car and both windows were down and the trunk was unlocked. must have tripped the remote in my pants but I have never figured out how that happened. hasn't happened again.

Same exact thing has happened to me - twice with just the windows. The fob buttons seem to be easily pressed on in my pocket so I now keep it in my jacket.
Yup, you held down the unlock button. Same thing happened to me. Don't feel bad. When I did it, it was pouring rain. Luckily the windows were only down for a minute or two before I realized it, but my 2 week old car got wet inside. Needless to say, I was not a happy camper. Is there a way to disable this feature?
I was looking online and found a silicone key fob cover/skin for our remotes(like the ones you can buy for ipods/phones/etc). With the thickness of the rubber, it should require you to have to push your finger down into the opening of the cover to push the button. The way the remote is now, the buttons sit flush with the surface and it makes it extremely easy to accidentally push a button; and it's also hard to feel which button is which, or where one button ends or the next begins. The cover will give a more tactile feel so it's easier to locate buttons just by touch. I ordered it and should have it next week. $9 bucks.

Yep, this happened to me once also, figured out after a minute it was exactly the same reason.
As an aside I think I saw the key fob covers mindonmatter posted about on amazon.com, for about the same price as well.
