Ipod Issue Appears to be Fixed

I just uploaded the latest iTunes software to my ipod this week, and it seems to have fixed the issue of the audio switching over from other sources (radio, cd, etc.) to ipod shortly after starting the car. I've even tested it with the ipod battery worn down, and the problem doesn't reappear as it did frequently in the past when the battery was low. It's so nice NOT to have to deal with the problem any more.

BTW...for those interested in which ipod I have...I'm using a 30GB video ipod...not sure which generation it is.

Try the new update. I've been living with the issue since February, and it seems to have finally disappeared with the new update. The aggravating part was I had an Alpine unit installed in my old Maxima that worked just fine with the same ipod, so it really wasn't the ipod.

What I really find effed is that Apple is charging 9.95 for 3.0.

thats for iTouch users right? 3.0 is free for iPhone users?

Shouldnt this be as easy as downloading the firmware file and then manually updating it onto a jailbroken iTouch? Shouldn't be too hard to update firmware free these days when people are getting all their apps free anyway.

False alarm. After enjoying not having the issue for a week or so, it seems to have reappeared. I have no idea why it lasted that long other than I thought the problem was corrected. I'll charge up the ipod independently tonight and see how long it takes for the problem to reappear. This is such a pain for such a nice car.
