Radio preset TSB... crap!

Well, I have been patiently praying that my car never had the issue of the radio presets not scrolling properly. I had the KP Technologies navigation bypass installed, and everything was working great. Until today!! So my radio is now skipping the presets when I scroll through them.

Does anyone know how they go about fixing this issue now? Do they still have to completely remove the head unit and swap it out? If I take it in under warranty, do I have to remove the KP Technologies navigation bypass module and unsolder the connection? And finally, will I lose all my original voice commands if I get this addressed?

Any suggestions are appreciated!!

one thing for sure, they will have to access the head unit directly, meaning rip the centre dashboard out. when i got mine done, the invoice noted that re-programming was done to fix issue. i cant really answer you about loosing the voice commands, but logic tells me that you would.

I had this issue once, but they came back the next day...give it some time? weak battery issue?

But if all else fails, ask dealer about TSB, ITB08-037b "RADIO WILL NOT SCROLL
THROUGH ALL PRESETS (NAVI-EQUIPPED ONLY)", 16pgs, amendment b on 1-12-09, it looks to be.
Pretty slick, looks like they connect via USB to a compact flash card adapter that slides into the CF slot; then they select program update using HD Nav tools, etc.
"SECTION 1: Installing the Map Data Master Discs into the CONSULT-III (C-III).…...Page 3
(This is required only once)
SECTION 2: Connecting C-III to the Audio System…………….........………………...Page 9
SECTION 3: Updating the Audio System……………………………………….....…….Page 10
SECTION 4: Disconnecting the C-III and CF (Compact Flash) Adapter……………..Page 14
SECTION 5: Verifying the Update Result………...……………………….……………..Page 16"

most TSBs on InfinitiHelp.com, you can download if you join for $10, I think.

^^^You don't have to pay to download the TSB's from Infinitihelp.com
Registration is free but you just get limited to 2 downloads per day from the TSB section.
