I would definitely say that the ipod interface in a G37 is superior to the HD. It baffles me why you can't scroll though songs on the HD to find one you want without changing the track. In a car which strikes me as so tech-savvy the absence of such a simple feature makes me believe Apple paid them to make the interface annoying. You also can't bring up a list of artists like you can with ipod interface. Sadly, for me, I have the iphone 3g which still operates admirably though buggy at times. The included link cable also will not charge the 3g which is a source of... irritation for me in an otherwise stellar automobile.

the hd works great, but you can't search artists while driving and that really pisses me off. Plus.........who buys cd's anymore? If you could load your own mp3's from the cf reader to the hd that would be make it much more useful!

So then really the only usefulness of the CF card is if you don't have an ipod? Seems like it would make sense you could transfer files over from the card to the HD. Unless there is really something thats technically impossible there, how is this not an obvious feature that they'd include? I mean, did more than one person beta test this and not point that out?? I need to be a beta tester...

another bonus to the ipod over the CF is that the ipod has an EQ and you can further add treble and bass to music over the stereos controls. I personally like to set the eq on the ipod to classical, which sounds strange since I like to listen to Rap and Metal, but the classical setting adds both treble and bass. Obviously with the CF card you have no additional control over sound beyond the stereo. Here is a link to ipod EQ settings and frequency curves:

I have a 4th gen nano that I connected when I went to test drive it. Does it charge that?
