Hard drive location

Has anyone taken their dash apart for whatever reason, and knows the exact location of the hard drive? I plan on attempting to copy the contents over to my PC to get into a bit of mischief with it and any time you could save me in locating it without disassembling unnecessary things would be helpful.

Thanks!!!

The hard drive is inside the AV Control unit. Which is behind the radio and climate control panel. You need to take apart the dash.

I'm interested in seeing what I can customize, but most importantly, return the voice control to full functionality

I hear ya... I put in 1 CD and its never come out since. I actually use the CF cards more than anything. I do want to see if I can copy over a nice chunk of my library because it would be nice to have the music there without the pod. Not being able to transfer from a MP3 disc or CF is unforgivable. You know how long it would take to burn all your music to CD and then have the system rip it.... its just stupid. They need to give the customer what they want

hmm, I might try that in a few days... its real easy to open up the dash and get to the hard drive. I wonder if it uses standard IDE or Sata cables or if its something weird.

I'm not going to try it for a few days because I have to go out of town on business so if you beat me to it let me know what you find.

Nice to see someone else on here from the windy!

This has been talked about, I was planning on messing around with it, I had several ideas but never have time to mess with it and installing a bigger drive is kinda useless to me since I have an ipod. They are seagate EE series HDs.
