phone extensions?

I can't seem to find if this has been asked before. How do I enter a "pause" for extensions in the phonebook. The microformat standard for this is p. So the number would be:

804-555-5555p1234

I'm told you could use voice to add the numbers once the automated system has picked up, but I find it hard to believe that's the only way.

I had the same issue and looked for an answer everywhere without success. I also checked with the dealer and they said it wasn't possible. This seems so basic I don't know why they wouldn't include it as an option.
