A Different IPod Question
A Different IPod Question
My Ipod 5th gen 30 G seems to be staying on after I shut down the car. Is it not supposed to go off. The back light timer is functioning but the screen stays on with not back light indefinably. Other times it goes all the way off after a few minutes inactivity. Is this the car keeping it on or is it the Ipod being inconsistent. I checked the IPod manual and the car manual. They do talk about sleep time but that is for playing to sleep, not shut down.
My 3rd gen nano turns-off by itself. The newer ipods (and yours is) turn off by themselves if there is no activity. There must be some sort of a mismatch if your ipod sometimes turns-off and other times it doesn't...

I have a 3rd gen and a 5th gen and they both do it on occasion. It appears Infiniti relied on the Ipod's auto shutoff feature instead of actually sending a command to turn it off like some other after market units. I had no issues when either was connected to my Alpine head unit.
