For those with the V1. How does the concealed display module connect? Can you still hardwire the V1 to the rearview mirror and have another cable connect to the display? And is it small enough to stick it in the little ash tray compartment next to the cigarette lighter? Thanks.

Consider it a privilege to even receive this warning as opposed to a ban without a single hint of a possible banning.

Having said that....the 9500s are able to distinguish different signals by frequency, so if there is more then one signal it will usually still alert for the "new" signal it detects.

Having had a V1 and several Escorts, I prefer the Escort. The arrows are nice, and I do miss them, but the Escorts seemed to pick up a little better (especially cops sitting down side roads). Either one is well worth the money though.

Edit: And to respond to the false alerts with LCD. I've yet to have this issue, wish is suprising since Escorts are notorious for giving false laser alerts. It was so bad in my 05 G35 that I bought the V1. However I've had no issues in my 08 which is why I went back to Escort.
+1 for the 9500i. I have had mine for a few months now and I think it works great. As far as false readings go, you can lock out the false signals and then when a new signal pops up, such as an actual officer, you get the audible alert again. It will also let you know how many and of what type of signals it is reading. For example, mine has picked up 2 X band and 1 K band. Around here the local police use K band and sure enough it was a PO. A very handy feature.
Also, I tried attaching the dector with a mirror mount and was not very successful with it. It sits just enough over the LCD screen to make it have false laser reading. So I just moved it back up to the windshield and everything works great.
I debated for a while between the V1 and 9500i. I like the 9500i but I think I would have liked the V1 as well. If you purchase either, you will be happy.
Good luck with your decision.

And just to stick my nose in the other issue, I know the roads between Vegas and LA very well and I still think 200 is a stupid thing to do on a public highway. Especially at night. Can you say Darwin award candidate?

Temporarily for now

I've e-mailed V1 about a V2, we'll see what they have to say about an upgrade in hardware. I know that I read it somewhere but now I can't find anything on the topic. It's certainly not on their website but I doubt they want to let anyone know they're going to put out a V2 until its time so sales don't slack off.

Where do you have it mounted? Above the rear view mirror or low on the windshield like Terrible? If above the windshield, does the tint affect the gps reception?
