Does anyone have any issues with the voice recognition on our G37's? Evertyime I saw Brookline it comes up with every city name from Rockford to who knows what. I did the voice training for the commands but does it have anything for the actual cities and maps. AND YES I am chinese but have no accent, I was born here for all you flamers. LOL Any way to train our navi, its quite emabrassing when trying to go somewhere and show off the cars technological capabilities.

The voice recognition software is severely limited compared to earlier versions. In fact I don't know of a VR equipped car out there that accepts less commands than the current G......

I don't think you understood my original post. I have trouble with the navigation recognizing city names.

YES!!! The voice recognition does suck. I had a 2006 M35x that NEVER had an issue understanding me when speaking in a regular tone. Now more than 50% of the time, my car doesn't understand city names. I try repeating and repeating and it never gets it so I have to manually enter. I have no accent at all. Big step down from the 2006 Infiniti

It works everytime I use it.. Never have done the voice training either. Try turning the volume up a notch.

Same here, never had a problem with city names and over all it's been pretty accurate on everything else. That's not to say I haven't had a miss or two, it's not perfect but over all it works well.

Thus far all of my voice commands has worked fine with the exception of one.

For the life of me I can't get the car to understand: Temperature 72

I say: Temperature 72 (seventy) the car repeats: Temperature 77
I say: Temperature 7-2 (seven-two) the car repeats: Temperature 77

I've tried audio volume high & low.
I've tried speaking loud & soft.
I've even tried prayer.

Finally, I decided to just turn the damn **** to 72...

Problems here too. I get cities that aren't even close to what I am looking for. Finally I say "screw it, show me how to get there (which ever city it pulls up)" and just start driving. It's a good way to see new places.

To add to the temp 72 oddity; the voice recognition captures:
Satellite radio channel 72 and satellite radio channel 7-2...

For smaller towns, you need to say "town of ..." rather than just the city name.
