oh yea, I almost forgot

the cable that you hook it up with , its an old phone cord I had laying around it took me about 10 minutes to cut it and splice off the homelink wire in the rear view. or you can get pay 40.00 bucks for some probes.

you only need 2 wires, + and - if you hook it up backwards it just wont turn on , if you hook it up right it will. just switch the wires if you have no power.

unplug your mirror, peel back some of the plastic housing encasing the wires. I put a small slit in mine with a razor knife, find the + and - and splice into them. attach the phone cord wires to corresponding + or - , plug in , tape up wire housing with electrical tape done.

at first I thought this would be hard, its really not. 10 mins. and some wire cutters and an old phone cord (rj11), electrical tape.

doesn't affect it. has been working fine for me for a year.

I like it up there, because I don't have to worry about it when parked. you can't see if from outside the car.

I cant speak for anyone elses perfermance but mouting is KEY to detection. Front detection may be fine mounted all the way up, your rear and side detection would be LIMITED having it up there. This is a no brainer, the manual even specifies how it should be mounted.

The V1 is dated, so is the solo2. When plugged in the solo2 provided very close performace to the 8500 x2. For wireless applications it is the best that you can get. Dont take my word for it here is the review links so you can see for yourself. Its all about how much you want to spend. the best detectors out there right now are the 9500ix and latest STI. I am actually going to pick up a 9500ix this week, but its 500.00

Nice. the xi is awesome just for the Blue. I'd hardly say the extra $50 is worth changing red to blue... but it just fits so much better in the cabin.
