Did this last night to my 2013XS Sedan. Works like a charm. I love having the best of both worlds. RWD / AWD / and / or being able to fully disable VDC whenever I want.

I also put the two switches in my glove box to be a bit more stealthy.

I may have to try this. It looks pretty easy. Now we have to find a way to beef up the transfer case and do a full time AWD option!

Just checking couldn't we just unplug the yaw controller in the center console?

And we still could do burnouts cause of the brake light switch.

This DYI doesn't do it for me. I tried to follow steps listed on here. But after splicing the orange cable and connecting two wires to a switch. I was able to get the car in RWD mode but not back to AWD. The AWD light is ON all the time now.

you have to cycle power (turn car off and back on with circuit connected to re-engage AWD).
if that does not work, make sure the wiring is good and the switch is not defective

Absolutely true, I would like to run this as a summer set up with 10.5 for the rears and maybe a 8.0 or 9 for the fronts. from what I hear, that ratio is not a good set up for the AWD system

Staggered has been hit or miss with the AWD platforms. It has seem ok if you keep the rolling diameter difference less than 3%.

we have an electronically controlled AWD system. when you do this mod a fault is detected in the AWD system and it is disabled. but the front drivetrain is still mechanically connected to the transmission through the transfer case and so it still rotates, but no torque is sent. so . . . this means that you couldn't use this mod to run a staggered setup outside the AWD system tolerances or go on an RWD dyno.

i looked up a wire diagram for the AWD circuit on my 12 g37x... looks like pulling fuse 33 (10 amp) will disable the power to the AWD controller. gonna try this tomorrow... i'm excited. if it works, then i'll just hook up a switch

Did this end up working? really want to use my G37x for a bit of sliding and have the stability when the weather gets bad, if its just a fuse it would make life a hell of a lot easier, Thank!
