I think the technical terminology for oversteery is loose.

My experience is having overly stiff rear suspensions by putting in a large sway is not always the best settings. Sure, at 35 mph it seem fun as you can feel the tail step out, but beyond that speed it may lead to snap over-steer in the dry and twitchy in the wet. Overly stiff rear suspension also makes the car slower on rough surfaces as the tires skits over the surfaces. Every street racer thinks he wants over-steer, few can control it.

 

Ash, I have one problem with your spreadsheet. How certain are you about the spring rates of both the eibach and oem bars?

When i was shopping around, I couldn't get a definitive answer, even from eibach.

 

The Eibach numbers come from a PDF on their site.

The OEMS I'm not 100% sure on- got those numbers from another source, don't recall where though. It was a while ago.

 

Yeah, Ash will be missed on this forum. It's always gratifying to run across someone in a car forum with actual writing skills, who doesn't always comment about how "sick" things look.

This is true. Oversteer can be fun, but balance is much better.

You're very kind. I'll likely do both at the same time, but will still give consideration otherwise. As we're both planning, this isn't going to go on the car until Winter ends, and after the summer tires are mounted.
