good question....The door code is GAC. I tried looking that up and got "black pearl" on some website. I just looked on another site, and it labeled it the "Malbec Black Mettalic", so you might be right...
Thanks.
Thanks.

You'd probably have to ask a real "expert" on that, but from my research, it all depends on "how" they are installed. For example, when the supercharger was installed on this car, they added an oil pan upgrade to hold 7 quarts instead of the standard 5 (extra oil required for supercharger). If the supercharger is installed by someone who doesn't "know what they are doing", I would be immensely concerned.
These upgrades were done by Z1 motorsports (https://www.z1motorsports.com/). They've been in business for a long time, and as you can see from their website, they specialize in this model (plus a few more). It wasn't done by Firestone, or by some Infiniti mechanic who wanted some extra power.
I'm sure it might decrease the lifespan of the engine overall (it would probably HAVE to), but at 20k miles, I would assume you'd have at least another 150 - 200k before you'd have issues. This was never raced or anything....

I agree it will add stress and will shorten the engine life. The more you keep your foot into it you'll burn the fuel and add some wear. I had mine installed at 58k miles and she's at 70k now.
The benefits of the kit are that have a large swell of torque from about 2000rpm through 4000-5000rpm and the car is dramatically, driveably, faster and more enjoyable. Peak power reduces from ~7100-7200rpm to about 6700pm. Effectively, you get better acceleration with less throttle and you can spin the engine less. It will wind out to 7500 but with all the torque there's no need.
Noise wise, the Vortec V3 has an idle rattle from the gears, you won't hear it from within your car. Under throttle or moving you get a teeny tiny supercharger whine, not intrusive, you normally need a lot of throttle and some the windows to be down. The Stillen exhaust has a nice burble and small lope at idle, I do not find it too loud and I am picky about HOLY GOD LOUD exhausts.
I hope this helps you decide. I very much enjoy my kit, completely improves the character of the engine.
Good luck,
Rick

Nice, sounds like you know a TON more than I do about the mods. I bought it already "modded", so I just get to enjoy the extra rumble and speed from the supercharger...I wish I knew more about it in general, but I have enjoyed it!!
