I used a brass plug with identical thread & an o-ring to plug the O2 bung and immerse it on its side, but somehow fluid magaged to still seep inside. I got braver and just submerged the whole side to clean it up for painting. I don't expect I can paint under the heat shield, but will try to cover what can be seen the best I can.
