Great little mod. Surprised that these chrome strut caps are nearly a perfect fit! Would likely vibrate without electrical tap around a few of the prongs.

Finally finished. This was a much large endeavor than I had initially assumed.

Unit shipped quickly, was reasonably priced and the install instructions were pretty good.

Here the unit shown with the contents of it items from the Glowshift gauge kit. The wire harnesses for the temp and pressure gauges ended up being short, so I extended them 4’ (5 wires total)

The sandwich plate adapter with the fittings installed using permatex liquid. Glowshift recommends teflon tape because it’s easier to remove the fittings if needed. I opted for permatex as others online had problems with teflon tape.

Here is the gauge connected to the battery and tested (red and yellow to + and black to -). The tech at Glowshift recommended as he said often a bad gauge is received and ma y wait till the end to test.

From the sandwich plate, run the sensor harnesses up along the lines running alongside the alternator.

The sandwich plate is held on with a large 27mm/1 1/16” nut. Required a trip to Harbor Freight as I could not get an adjustable wrench in there to snug it down.

Everything installed, tested while running for 10 minutes or so. No leaks.

Punctured a hole on the grommet on the passenger side to route the sensor harnesses inside the cabin. Hated doing this, but it’s the best option. Sealed with clear silicon.

IPDM fuse box next to the battery. Not easy to remove as the two clips allowed some movement, but not enough to remove. I was almost ready to give up tugging on it, but then the box slide right out. Connect the orange wire from the power harness to to taillight fuse as it controls dimming of the gauge lighting. Works perfectly to dim the gauge lighting 30% when the lights come on.

Drive’s side fuse box connections (mentioned earlier in the thread). Note that the ground you want to use is just below the fuse box. You will need a crimped terminal connection on the ground. Loosen the 10mm bolt, slip the connection on then tighten.

Here’s a picture of the gauge inside the car when it’s off. I’m starting to forget it’s even there. Plenty of air still comes out of the vent (use a 1/2” spade bit to cut the hole for the harnesses, they fit snug) and the open/close mechanism on the vent still works.

I normally run the blue lighting, but figured most would like to see the white. The gauges are full bright in the daytime, but dim 30% (yellow wire in IPDM fuse box) when the lights come on at night.
