Rim recommendations: black sedan, subtle look, 18s (performance not bling)

OK total noob here. I haven't seen a lot of rims that I actually like, so I'm looking for ideas. I want a square setup for my manual sedan, and it's gonna be performance based, so I'm not looking to go up in size. My sedan is black and I'm not doing chrome deletes, the black and chrome thing looks nice. Makes it look like a non performance, Lexus/Mercedes type of car but I've got a headerback and I wanna drive it. I guess what I'm saying is I want rims that won't stand out. I think chrome is the right answer, if not some form of silver, but I can be persuaded otherwise. I just need ideas.

The Enkei RPF1... Incredibly light weight, quality build, unobtrusive design, multiple finishes, and one of the few aftermarket 18" wheels that will clear your BBK. As for OEM-ish considerations, Enkei makes the OEM wheels on your car right now.

Personally, I don't care for the design. But if not for that, the wheel would be a slam dunk. Match that up with lightweight 2-piece rotors, and lightweight summer tires... should be a heck of a combo.

The RPF1s don't actually clear the Akebono, do they? At least not with offsets that work with the sedan - I didn't consider them for my coupe as I wasn't entirely sure.

As for 18s, basically if it fits a 2015+ WRX, it fits the sedan. There's plenty of options, new and used, that should fit the sedan. If you want performance, you pick a tire and size of tire you want to run, then you pick the wheels to fit that tire.

Pretty sure they do, but with like 1mm or 2mm clearance with the front caliper. This is just me remembering someone here who did it a few years back.

Found it... This guy MACS from 2013: https://www.myg37.com/forums/wheels-...ml#post3570681

Dark bronze metallic is subtle, but looks great with black cars.

I thought I had a pic uploaded somewhere of my black Lancer with the dark bronze wheel set up, but I guess I don't. For being just a typical Lancer I get compliments on it all the time. The only aesthetic mods are the wheels, smoked LED fender lights, and tinted windows.

Hm that's curious. The 18x8.5 +30 has enough clearance - guess I should shut my face until someone here chimes in that the wider ones don't fit. I don't necessarily consider an 8.5 inch wheel a performance option, though.

Also - you're very good at finding that thread haha.

I just made a new thread about a lightweight 18" wheel that I came across. And I think the titanium finish would be what you're looking for to match the chrome.

Here's the thread: https://www.myg37.com/forums/wheels-...rm-rf03rr.html
