Enkei RPF1 TPMS,, does OEM work?
Hey all. I’ve had an account for a little bit now but I’ve primarily stuck to lurking for my duration here, scouring the forums for questions that were already solved so as not to be redundant, but now I’m stuck with an uncertainty and the other discussions on this topic haven’t really given me 100% confidence.
I’ve been driving a 2013 G37x Sedan for the last 2/3 months and I recently decided to pick up a set of Enkei RPF1s @ 18x8.5. I’ve had em sitting in my back room for the last week or so while I’ve been getting all the other components together (I.e. lug nuts, center caps, tires, brake pads and brake rotors which I did separately) and now I’m coming close to fruition.
I’ve been stumped, however, by the question of if the OEM TPMS sensors in my stock wheels are transferable to the Enkei’s? I understand it’s a larger diameter on the aftermarket wheels, and worry that that could lead to some complications. Or maybe they just simply aren’t compatible with the Enkei’s. And then I’ve also read that if you’re switching over TPMS sensors that you would need to recalibrate them for the different wheel, and I’m just not sure how that all goes down. Would the Auto Shop that installs my tires and wheels do all this for me? Do I need to take this somewhere else? Am I just stupid? All these questions...
Any help is appreciated.

Any competent tire shop can swap your TPMS sensors, and they'll fit those Enkeis. Nice choice, by the way. Your old sensors won't lose pairing. Only if you install different sensors do you need to pair them with your car. Again, any competent tire shop can do that.

Diameter has nothing to do with pressure. Volume, yes. Pressure, no. You're overthinking the situation. As Slarti said, keeping your existing sensors will not affect anything. Even if, by some strange reason, the pairing was lost, any competent tire shop can reprogram them in a few minutes and usually no charge- especially if they are mounting the tires in the first place.
Now go get those wheels mounted!
