Question about buying rims

Hi I'm new to forums in general, I own a 2015 q40 and I looking for new rims, I was wondering if it matters if I get either 17/18/19 inch rims and I know the standard offset is typically 45mm but does it matter if i say use a 30 mm offset instead.

Yes, it matters. And if you have the Akebono/Brembo Sport brakes, that matters, too.

I'd start with Tire Rack. Their web site has a nice feature that allows you to explore plus 1 and plus 2 sizing and will serve up wheels that fit.

He has a Q40, so unless he modified his car... that's a nope on the sport brakes. There was no Sport Package for the Q40, appearance or otherwise.

On the plus side, Dave, that means you don't have to worry about fitment issues with your brakes. You've got 17" wheels right now. 20" wheels would look goofy with the little brakes, IMO, and 17" just look goofy regardless. So my advice would be to target either 18" or 19" wheels for that car.

More advice: an aggressive or even flush offset will look really odd unless your sedan is lowered. It's just the way it is.
