rim fitment FAQ?
rim fitment FAQ?
Hi there,
May I suggest someone 'sticky' a thread discussing what rims will fit or not fit? That way, this will end some of the redundancy about "will this fit?" threads will occur.
First, could someone post OEM specs for the 18" and 19" rim packages along with the corresponding tire sizes. From there, those of us who know how tires and rims are measured, can make educated guesses on what will / will not fit.
Thanks!
-------------
For example:
OEM 19" rims:
19x8.5 (+ 43 offset) with 225/45/19 tires for the front
19x9.0 (+ 45 offset) with 245/40/19 tires for the rear
OEM 18" rims:
18x8.0 (+ __ offset) with 225/50/18 tires for front & back
------------
Then can someone say for wider rims, what would be the recommended width/offset combination that can be safely done without having to do any fender mods (ie roller fenders, need to run negative camber), etc? That would be great!!!

^^^^great idea... you shouldve posted this in the feedback section tho...
I think there needs to be more stickys with FAQ and How-to's Also...
Sticky info is great and it would be able to eliminate newbie threads...

From G37-tech.com:
The ten spokes of the 19" wheels incorporate a beveled twist to make the light dance as they spin, creating a sense of surprise and visual appeal. yet ultimately they're created to perform. Low weight, and large size to put more tire on the road, heightens responsiveness and control. Front:
* Weight: xx lbs
* Size: 19 X 8-1/2J
* Material: Aluminum
* Offset: 43 mm
* Tire Size: 225/45WR19
Rear:
* Weight: xx lbs
* Size: 19 X 9J
* Material: Aluminum
* Offset: 45 mm
* Tire Size: 245/40WR19
