Problems with Michelin PSS

Hi all! I have a question, I was curious if anyone that owns PSS have had any issues I’ve had mine on my coupe for about 3 months with 2800 miles on them mostly highway miles, long story short all four are wearing terribly cracking pieces falling off. Cars in alignment and suspension is sound currently working with Michelin to get this resolved tires are sitting at 9/32 currently, was just curious if anyone else has had issues with these tires. Any information will help!

Can you post some pics.

I've had my PSS's for about 2 1/2 years and ~12.5K miles. No issues with the tires falling apart.

What's the date code on your tires? Driving style/habits?

I can get pics and the date code tomorrow when it’s light out, driving styles are relaxed not gunning it and hitting it hard, just daily driving to and from campus and some drives between Greenville and Wilmington

If the tires are not extremely old, could just be a bad batch. I've generally had good luck with michelin tires on both car and bikes - at least their performance tires. Can't comment on all season or grand touring models.

Sounds like a bad batch to me. Contact Michelin, those tires might have warranty.

Did you ever check the date codes on the tires?

It has to be a bad batch. I have had mine for 2 years and about 5k miles and they still look brand new.
Granted, the roads around southeastern NC are crap, but nothing to cause that type of issue.
Good luck getting this resolved with Michelin!

PSS are 10/32" tread depth when new, so that seems about right being at 9/32 and 3000 miles. But cracking pieces falling off? That's scary, and not right at all.

I've gone through two sets of PSS, and my only complaint is how few lifetime miles you get out of them, although that's kind of a given up-front.

G'luck, OP.

I have not I had to go out of town for the weekend left the G in Greenville due to the tire issues, I have been talking with Michelin they said cracking is not acceptable and to have them checked, I have an appointment Monday to check the tire tread again for warranty. I bought a tread tester and tires are all currently sitting at 9/32 which isn’t bad but the cracking is unacceptable so hopefully Monday I will see what’s going on! I’ll be back Sunday at some point and will get the date codes for everyone and hopefully some pictures I tried today and the tires were wet and the picture was not clear to see, I’ll keep everyone posted!
