Noob post about wheels

Hey everyone, I am a forum lurker and I'm making my first post because I need some help here.

I have searched through the forums for hours and I have not really found an answer to my question.

My car is a 2011 g37xs sedan with the 18' enkei wheels, tires are 245/45 r18

The car is lowered on swift springs.

I want to buy a set of squared 4 rear wheels which are all 19x9 in +45 offset

The tires he has on them are 225/40 zr19

Now my question is how much different are these sizes, will this work and am I going to have any problems here?

Thanks!

Diameter difference: -0.59" (-2.28%)

The 225/40/19 will be a little shorter than the 245/45/18. Since they are the same size all around you won't have any major issues, the only thing is the speedometer will not be accurate.

Thanks for the reply, they are telling me that if its within 3% they should be fine but I'm not sure, I dont think I believe that. I'm wondering how they would fit with that offset and if they would look a bit funny being slightly shorter. Unfortunately they are not willing to sell without tires.

The 3% rule only applies to staggered setups. Since all 4 wheels and tires are the same size you don't need to worry about that. You might need spacers to make them flush since you're lowered but that's about it. You shouldn't have any issues.

3% applies to difference between stock and new size. It's 1% for difference between front and rear, i.e. staggered for AWD.

Just run them as-is, then when it comes time to replace the tires, get the proper 245/40/19s, it's a win-win (assuming you're getting a great deal that is )

Awesome, thanks everyone! I'm going to pull the trigger on these wheels then, they are the 19' coupe wheels (rears) with Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 tires so I'll be pretty happy to get them on. I'm hoping I wont need to put on spacers but we will see.

As soon as the powdercoating shop calls, I'm joining the club, too.
