Anyone sync Z wheels to your G? Discount tire said no dice...

I have a 2011 sedan with Z anniversary wheels. Went to DT yesterday and the guy said the wheels couldn't be synced to my car because the sensors were old/outdated. Then said he'd install new ones for $60/ea. Sounds like BS compared to the prices I've read on here.

Had anyone been able to successfully have older wheels synced? Or could the sensors just be in need of replacing?

You need to swap your sensors over or get sensors that are for your Gs year, seems they change them up every couple years.

I just went thru the research on the tpms

To swap tpms from stock infiniti 17s to my new 20s
They wanted a grip in labor just to change- got more expensive with the 20s
Just to swap was over 200

They wanted 60$ per tire & free installation
Amazon had tpms brand new 40$ per - discount tire wanted 30$ a tire for installation

It was cheaper & easier to buy from DT

U can install yrself if u have breaker bar & are tire savy

I paid for tpms cause I didn't want to see that light on lol

Ok, sounds good. Thanks guys. I just wanted to make sure they weren't trying to pull one over on me. Being new to TX, I really miss having a mechanic I trust.

Guess.i may as well have them install new ones for $60. No point paying to have them swap over 7yo sensors, which would then make my stock wheels useless.

When I got my 40th anni Z wheels I just went through the TPMS dance with a paperclip and wire found here on the forums. Took like eight tries but it finally worked. The wheels had the original TPMS' in them as far as I know. Just an insight from someone else that had the same year wheels and TPMS; granted I own a '09 not an '11. The batteries might be going out in one of them.

Ok, thanks. I read through the DIY. And then I saw a comment about new models not having the white plug. The guy at DT brought his tool and put it up to my front tire and it didn't pick up the sensor. Guess it could just be a dead battery. Guess I'm gonna be dealing with a light until I put new tires on.

Here's a link to an eBay seller that I bought a set of OE TPMS's when I installed G35 Rays wheels. You can also install the sensors yourself...very easy to do. My tire shop just programmed them to my car at no add'l charge during the tire/wheel install.
