Wheel Protectors

Does anyone have good experience with how to protect wheels?
Like a fool, I got too close to a curb, to protect my doors from other parked cars, and scraped a wheel.
I see these plastic inserts like alloygator, which look good and are not unreasonably priced.
My concern is that they may come off and damage the paint in highway.
Open to other suggestions.
Thx in advanced.

those alloygators are just glued on. so...ya... i would just go and get your rim repaired/refinished and be more careful next time.

or you could get

like the old people have LOL.

Sounds obvious but best thing to do is just avoid curbs at all costs. I've had a couple curb brushes trying to get into those perfect end parking spots, now I go out of my way to avoid any curbs, seems to have worked much better
