Hey all,

I have a 2009 infiniti G37s convertible and was thinking of going down to the Q60 18inch wheels.

I bought a set with tires off craigslist but the tire shop told me they will not fit due to the large breaks. They said something about an alignment pin that sticks out that blocks them too.

Anyone have experience with this? I tried searching the forum for this specific case didn't find it.

 

Depends on the 18s, some will clear, most won't. If you have the wheels in hand just try a test fit. That pin IIRC is a little bolt that can be removed, it's only purpose is to keep those OEM staggered wheels from being put on the wrong axle. Once it's removed you should have no issues as long as you have at least 2mm clearance at the brake caliper.
Prior to doing your test fit you might want to put a piece of masking/painters tape over the caliper so you won't ding it up in case you don't have enough room.

I got the same wheels I have now except 18s. They look exactly the same.

Not 100% sure, if you don't want to try a test fit you can tape these templates to some thin cardboard and test them that way.
