While I haven't taken it out yet , judging by the size of the rubber on the spare tire in the trunk I am guessing it is not the same actual wheel that is on the car. If I source another 19 inch OEM rim and put rubber on it, will it actually fit within that well and let carpet lay flat as God and Infiniti intended?

Reason I ask, is I might buy a spare wheel to allow for the blemish on the one wheel to be professionally repaired and that would allow the car to be used while awaiting the repair. Big PITA to do otherwise as restoration shop is about 40 minute drive away.

No, a full size spare wheel and tire won't fit flush in the space.

 

Thanks , now I won't waste my muscles trying to hike a tire in that space ...
