@mthamer
They're specific to winter wheels as that's what I have my snow tires mounted on. It came as a set from discount tire. I wanted something relatively cheap. I got a square setup, four corners at 8" w/ 225/50/18 tires. Not sure what does this for handling as I drive very gently in the winter.
19" wheels will cost more than 18". Go to your nearest discount tire and price some out. Keep in mind tax and mounting/balancing. You can also haggle with them. $100 rebate on 4 wheels is good through the end of the month.
Cheapest wheel on their site that will fit is around $160/wheel. You're in a bit of a catch22. If you go with 18" cheaper wheels, you can't reuse your tires. OTOH you can reuse them but need pricer 19". Maybe consider used wheels too. Maybe someone is selling some in the forsale section on here or the 370z site?
@saywat You'd think that's the first thing the tire shops would check.
Thanks for the tip on discount tire. I don't have a location near me, but I can order from discounttiredirect.com.
I think I'm going to go with Drag DR-48s (silver) in a staggered setup. I'll put 2 19x8.5s on the front and 2 19x9.5s on the rear. Here they are: Wheel Details - Discount Tire Direct
The total price is $805 (incl wheel installation kit) and then I get an additional $100 rebate for memorial day savings, bringing it down to $705. There is no tax/shipping. I figure I don't need the optional TPMS rebuild kit or vale stems kit.?
I hope to keep my current tires which are 225/45ZR19 92W front and 245/40/R19 94Y rear.
If anyone has any experience or advice against these, please let me know before I pull the trigger. It's my first rim purchase so I'm a noob here. I have to order them by Tuesday to get the discount.
Hey Guys, I got the new wheels on and so far so good. After $160 in rebates from DiscountTire they were $645.
When I first got them from DiscountTireDirect, one of them was bent, so I had to ship it back (free) and they sent me a replacement which arrived in 3 days. Looked like it had been dropped by shippers? Discount Trire was very easy to work with on this and helpful.
Also, I had Mr. Tire put them on and balance them (for $150), but when I picked up the car I could feel one wheel rubbing. Apparently they didn't drive the car or they would have noticed. So I went back to Mr. Tire and they realized that the raised lettering on the inside of one wheel was rubbing against the calipers on the front. Must have been not machined exactly right. So they smoothed it down about 1/32nd to take care of it. It's inside so you can't see it.
But they look good now and hopefully the pressure leak is gone. See attached before and after pics.
I want to thank everybody on the forums for all the advice and guidance, since it's my first time buying wheels. I'll keep the old wheels around for winter usage I suppose.
