I am driving on my DWS06 for the past 9000 miles. I have to admit that it isn't as much communicative as the most hated Good Year RS-A i had previously, or the F1 Assymetric that I tried, but over time, it has become better (broken in?). I like the way it feels today, although not much road feedback as I wanted, still comfy and absorbs road bumps well. Also it is very quiet comparing to others that I've tried (even the touring tires).

Been through snow, (2 of which 5-8 inch fall), not sure how I made out of it, but I have not slipped or seen traction light yet (Had the snow button pushed in the entire time, and drove with common sense).

I agree that nothing beats the dedicated winter tires, but if that isn't an option, then DWS06 is not a bad bet.

 

So far the 06's have been a great new gen to the original DWS. Reports on snow traction have been better as well as the handling. Conti tightened them up a bit and people have been quite happy. I would agree its the strongest a/s performer for the G w/out going to a dedicated snow tire.

 

I've had the cont DWS 06s for about 1000mi and they're noticeably better than original tires in overall performance. Plus, they're lighter than the originals by 4lbs so that's good and seems to be more of a significant factor than what most people would think.

Does anyone know if these are noisy on the highway or when going at higher speeds? I've heard these can get a little noisy but have been told that this is a minority opinion.

 

I have put about 15k miles on these tires and they so much better than the previous generation DWS. I have them on an S coupe so they are staggered 19s and they are not loud at all so far--not nearly as loud as the Michelin A/S 3s on my bmw coupe with similar mileage on them.


I would rate their dry performance as 85% of the Michelins, wet performance equal with the Michelins and hydroplane resistance significantly better than the Michelins. They may be closer in dry performance--the excellent turn-in on the BMW may be skewing my opinion somewhat.


These are also wearing very well, with the DWS still visible on the fronts--haven't checked the rears lately.
