Yeah, it really depends what you can do w/ your car when the weather gets rough. Summer tires are really good until the temp gets to 40 degrees or below. I had the Toyo Proxes 4 plus previously, they're an all-season tire that is decent in most conditions but not great. I now have Nitto 555 Summer tires, they weren't my first choice but I was in a tough spot (on vacation in Las Vegas and they were the only tire that was in a matched set that were in the 285 size that I needed). G is much more fun right now as these tires have great dry grip.

The Toyo T1 Sports are their summer tire and they would be a good choice if you have other ways to deal w/ the cold in your G. The Michelin Pilot A/S tires seem to get nice reviews for A/S tires but most Michelins will stretch your budget a bit. All depends what you're after, G/L w/ your situation.

^^^i put the conti extreme contact dws on a prior owned car. Nice tires but have a tendency to get very noisy over time. Being in Philly (lived there myself for 7 years) a good all season will do you well.

If you need just one tire, and its a brand/model we carry, I can shave it down to match the existing tire's tread depth. Runs $25.

My response in this thread earlier must of been a precursor to what happened a few weeks ago. Noticed one tire was losing pressure relative others; about 1lb every 4-5 days. Got around to pulling the wheel off today to discover this.

It must of been there a while as the head was completely sheared off. Took a while to find the leak too. It was in one of the tread blocks, about 3" inwards from the inside shoulder. From the motorcycle days, I've always carried a plug kit with just in case. Should be good enough until I replace the entire set next spring. I'm just glad it wasn't a bead or valve stem leak - can't really fix that with hand tools.

Btw, tire pressure never got low enough to trip the tpms. Since the car isn't driven daily, I typically check tires at least every 2 weeks. It raised concern when psi difference is more than 1/2lb.

Do you still have a warranty? Looks like a lot of life left on the tire ,but as other have said way too close to sidewall.

One option no one mentioned if you have a partially used set of tires and just need to replace 1 due to a non-repairable leak is to check e-bay for a used tire of the same make and model. I have lucked out in the past.

Just make sure you get one that hasn't had repairs and has the dot number visible. If you know what to look for, you'll get a good, safe tire.
