no staggered on X?

So we have an MB that has 4matic and the front and rear are really factory staggered - 235 on the front and 255 on the rear. Is this such a no-no on the G?

You can do it on the G. All that matters is that the outer diameters are very close, such as 245/40-19 front and 275/35-19 rear.

There's countless ways it can go wrong and only a few ways it can go right, so like twin snails mentioned, tire diameter is critical. 3% variance front to back is considered Ok w/ RWD Gs, but even 1% variance can cause issues w/ the AWD setup at high speeds so gettign as close to zero variance is best.

i had a staggered setup in the beginning with less than 1% diff.. but anytime i went over 120, the AWD light would come on.. so i ended up going with a square setup....

I am running a square 19x9 on my AWD and have no issues being dropped. Plus it makes tire rotations so much easier.

I have a staggered setup on my X sedan and no issues whatsoever. Just switched tires from 245/275 to 245/285 combo which is near dead even rolling diameter. Also when I had 245/275 on I hit 120 on the highway a couple times and had no issues. My car is lowered and the suspension completely done so that may have a slight effect given the negative camber i am running in the rear.

I had staggered convertible sport wheels on my xS sedan and never had issues with vibration or AWD lights in the dash. But I also don't drive at 120 mph on public roads LOL
